About Us
Meet the Owners
Kristy & Chris Goodrow
We don't believe in taking ourselves too seriously at Radical Rhino, and how could we when we're surrounded by sweets all day long?
I (Kristy) graduated with my Bachelor of Commerce in 2009 and founded Sweetness in 2016 out of a licensed kitchen in our basement. As a full-time mom of 3 kids aged 2, 3 and 5, I juggled the demands of motherhood and growing demand for my business. This often meant the kids would be downstairs in the basement with me, peering through the glass window separating the kitchen/business and the kids playroom!
Life took over and I halted the business for a year; I always wanted to be home with my kids when they were little and time was passing too quickly.
After closing down shop for a year, in 2018, the time felt right. It was stressful to say the least but with the support from friends and family, I expanded to a manufacturing facility late that year.
Chris worked behind the scenes from the beginning but in 2019 he joined the team full time. He wears multiple hats (one being because he's so tall he can reach alll the things) but most importantly he oversees sales, logistics and accounting.
Our kids will often be running around either jumping right into full production of the cookies, helping to pack orders, throwing dance parties for the staff and handing out encouragement, laughter and fun.
Believe us, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Chris and I are around each other 24/7. It's a constant juggle of prioritizing kids, business and our own sanity. There's many days we want to throw in the towel and give up. There's so much stress and so so many tears. But there's also the amazing team we've built, the example we're setting for our children and showing that perseverance and grit will get you to where you want to go. We love what we do, even on the worst of days and we couldn't ask for more than that.
We're so blessed to have you all along for this crazy ride with our family.
Thank you for all your support.
